Nigeria, popularly known as the ‘Giant of Africa’ is home to millions of talented and globally successful Nigerians. These individuals are known for their determination, resilience, and creativity.

1. Ngozi Okonja Iweala

Okonja-Iweala also helped improve transparency and accountability in the Nigerian financial sector.  She is currently serving as the Director General of the World Trade Organization.

Ayo Balogun popularly known as Wizkid, needs no introduction. He is a Nigerian singer and songwriter who began his music career at age 11 and gained popularity in Nigeria before breaking into the international scene. He has collaborated with top artists like Beyonce, Kanye West, and Chris Brown; just to mention a few.

4. Tony Elumelu

Tony Elumelu is a Nigerian economist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. He is the CEO of UBA and the founder of Heirs Holdings. Elumelu has interests in power, oil and gas, and finance. Over the years, he has given support to African entrepreneurs with training, funding, and mentorship.

He is globally recognized and has received numerous awards which include:

5. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie 

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is considered one of the Nigerians who have achieved success on a global scale for several reasons. Apart from being a prominent Feminist and an acclaimed author, Chimamanda has received global recognition and awards – ranging from the Orange Prize Award to the National Book Critics Circle Award and a MacArthur Fellowship. Many of her books are translated into many languages.
