Good sex education movies are rare. There are only a handful of good movies that teach about sex out there. And no, I don’t mean movies with tons of sex scenes (vigorously eyes 365 Days fans). I mean movies that actually touch on the complex issues of sexuality and intimacy like no other mainstream content does. 

This is mostly because the concept of sex and everything associated with it is still viewed as a taboo; something that should not be discussed openly…something to be ashamed of. 

However, good sex education is important. 

It provides young people with accurate and comprehensive information about sexual health and relationships. This knowledge can help them make informed decisions about their own health and wellbeing. 

Additionally, sex education can help to dispel myths and misconceptions about sex, which can lead to safer and healthier choices.

The film is based on the true story of Mark O’Brien, a journalist who wrote about his experiences. The Sessions is a really powerful and moving film. Helen Hunt’s performance is amazing, and she brings a lot of depth to the role of the sex surrogate.

It’s also a really detailed portrayal of disability, and the film doesn’t shy away from difficult or uncomfortable topics. It’s a challenging film, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. And it’s definitely a movie that stays with you long after you’ve seen it.
